Description

This qualification will provide the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring independent work within a defined range of exercise instruction situations and activities. Specialty groupings chosen lead to providing exercise instruction for group or gym programs.

Entry Requirements

  • Recommended to be currently working in industry
  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Australian Sports Academy staff will assist clients to ensure that the qualification is appropriate to meet their needs prior to enrolment
  • Technology requirement is recommended to be able to access online resources plus if the learner chooses to submit their assessment work via electronic means

This course offers rolling starts to suit the availability of your learning schedule. Student orientation is held every Monday.

Course Mode of Delivery and Duration

Domestic students: The course is provided through face-to-face delivery or distance; however blended learning is an option with block delivery. The course will be delivered and assessed in 6 – 18 months.

International students: Training will be delivered 2.5 days per week for 20 hours over a period of 52 weeks.

Pathways

After achieving SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness, learners may undertake SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness or other Sport Qualifications.

Applying to Australian Sports Academy (ASA) is easy. You can submit your enrolment application at any time. Also, you can call Gold Coast Campus on 1300 656 693 or Sydney Campus on 1300 083 832.

If your application is successful, we will send you a Letter of Offer including all the enrolment conditions. When you accept it and return a signed copy, we will secure your place in your chosen course. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer is offered at the time of enrolment. For additional information relating to RPL or Credit Transfer for this course, please contact us.

Delivery and Assessment Arrangements

You are able to use a combination of pathways such as self-paced, classroom/workshop/tutorial and on or off the job to complete the qualification. Competency based assessment is used during all assessment activities. Competency is achieved through demonstrating your knowledge and practical application of skills. The “assessment activities” will include but are not limited to such things as written/oral questions, third party feedback where applicable, activities, and scenarios of knowledge and practical application of skills.
